the story of how we ended up going to church has a couple twists and turns
K -- sings (silenty) to the litergy and the passages that we all sing together, familiar creeds that we sing each week. when an old hymn comes up, she sings, and then gets tears in her eyes "I miss my Mom"
L -- doesn't speak much. she claps to music that she likes - even when it doesn't match the beat -- that is not important. when communion is passed, she holds her mouth open to receive it. this is something she is familiar with.
M -- has relatives and long-time friends in this church. she is distracted by wanting to talk to them, and prays for everyone she knows when she is focused.
these women have reminded me in all their different ways - why i have my faith and why i want to keep; it and bolster it.
